It is nice to greet you all ! May this session 2019 – 2020 bring in the desired fruits to each one of you.Have you ever watched a weaver bird making its nest or an ant carrying a load heavier than itself? The bountiful nature is full of such examples which illustrate that every experience is a learning & challenging experience. Jacques Delors has rightly said that Education is based on the four pillars of Learning to Be, Learning to Know Each other, Learning to Do & Learning to Live & share together. “SCHOOL: the abode of learning” influences the all round development of pupils. Education synonyms being breeding, civilization, coaching, cultivation, culture, development, discipline, training, tutoring etc.It encompasses many things which in short mean an overall development of a student. As we all know ‘Time & Tide wait for none.’ Time is invaluable & precious.

History Of DPS Society
Once in a way dreaming the impossible may be the most practical thing to do. The report of the education commission on the emergence of an egalitarian and integrated society, spoke of a dream, a dream every committed educationist in India has, a dream of providing quality education to children in every part of our vast country. This very same dream is what inspires the Delhi Public School Society to nurture a family of over 130 schools even in the remotest, most inaccessible parts of the country and abroad.
From the beginning in the President’s Estate in 1941 as Church High School to Naveen Bharat School in 1947 and finally in 1949 at its present location on Mathura Road, DPS has traversed a long journey. The birth of a new nation in 1947 was in a way the beginning of DPS (called Naveen Bharat then), a momentous time in the history of our nation, when a beginning was made to fulfil a social, national need.
DPS Mathura Road was the only school till DPS R.K.Puram came into being in 1972. Over 130 schools that followed are simple assertions of the strength that is DPS. Yet what has remained unchanged is the zest and spirit to achieve and to excel.
Thus the DPS family is a living testimony to one of the oldest institutions in India -the joint family system .On one hand, beginning in 1949 it has in its fold, established stalwarts that continue to be forces to be reckoned with Internationally. On the other hand, there are newer schools that have the rich experience of their siblings and the benefit of latest developments. Some of the members are mere fledglings compared to those who have been soaring high for decades. But together, they make some of the most formidable bastions of education.
